Ruble Outdoor Concepts will design, install, and maintain the systems needed to protect your landscaping investment.

We offer a wide range of irrigation, drainage, and erosion control solutions from standard sprinkler systems to bio-retention ponds and swales.

Our water irrigation experts will consider the combination of water-efficient plants together with appropriate hardscaping and/or sprinkler systems to minimize your site costs and ensure your greenery thrives.

To protect each element from wind, run-off, snow, and ice, Ruble Outdoor Concepts uses various erosion control methods such as bio-retention ponds, swales, drainage systems, and hardscapes.

Whether you are planning a new development or fixing existing site issues, our team is here to support all of your commercial irrigation, drainage, and erosion control needs.

Irrigation

Your landscape has more than one design element. You have created beautiful green open spaces as well as colorful flower beds and containers. Your commercial landscape will look its best, and you will reduce water waste, if you incorporate a variety of irrigation methods. You can optimize your investments by using sprinklers for the grass and a combination of surface, drip, and soaker hoses for bushes, trees, flowerbeds, and containers. Ruble Outdoor Concepts is a valuable resource for establishing the right watering management system for your landscape design.

INSTALLATION & REPAIR

Experts estimate that up to half of the water used to irrigate landscapes is wasted due to evaporation, wind, or runoff caused by poorly adjusted sprinklers, improper design, or overwatering. Our team of friendly water management experts and complete line of water management products, will help you create and maintain healthy, beautiful, water-smart green spaces.

SPRINKLER SYSTEM IRRIGATION

Sprinkler irrigation applies water in a controlled manner mimicking nature’s rainfall.

Water is pumped through a system and sprayed into the air through sprinklers. The water forms small drops that uniformly fall to the ground. Sprinkler systems are best used in the early morning hours to reduce water loss through evaporation.

The benefits of sprinkler irrigation include:

  • Suitable for varying sizes of land—both large and small plots
  • Avoid water loss by directing water flow to specific areas of your property
  • Evenly disperse fertilizers and chemical treatments through the system.
DRIP IRRIGATION

Drip irrigation minimizes evaporation by placing water directly into the root zone.

Also referred to as trickle irrigation, the drip method conserves water and is useful for non-turf areas such as flowerbeds, perennial gardens, ground cover, street medians, and containers. Drip irrigation allows water to be delivered directly to the base of the plants. Water drips slowly onto the roots of plants through narrow tubes equipped with emitters.

The benefits of drip irrigation include:

  • Efficiency – saves time, money, labor, and water
  • Prevents fungal disease by minimizing water contact with the leaves, stems, and fruit of plants.
  • Discourages weed growth because water is only delivered where it’s needed
  • Reduces runoff and increases effectiveness on uneven ground.
WINTERIZING

Every season, your irrigation system needs special maintenance. This is especially true during the winter when temperatures are dropping.

Cold winter temperatures, snow buildup, and ice accumulation can wreak havoc on your water systems if they aren’t properly winterized.

That’s why it’s important to take steps before winter hits to protect your landscape irrigation systems.

Our Winterization Services Include:

  • Turn off the water supply to your sprinkler system
  • Evacuate all water from your sprinkler system
  • Turn off the controller to the sprinkler system
  • Assess the condition of your sprinkler system
  • Create a Winterization Report

Drainage & Erosion Control

Protect your projects from the elements by embracing erosion control and stormwater management best practices. Ruble Outdoor Concepts is here to help you stay in compliance with state and federal regulations and safeguard our natural waterways from erosion and unwanted sediment buildup.

When fast moving, large volumes of water appear and there is nowhere for the water to go, problems like erosion can arise.

It’s important to understand that solving drainage problems is more than just moving soil around. It encompasses the use of precision measurements, and an understanding of mathematics and thorough training to make an exact assessment and project plan.

Proper drainage reduces risks of flooding and erosion. Our drainage solutions ensure your site has an efficient way to properly divert excess water without causing harm to buildings, landscapes, and the environment.

Bio-Retention Ponds & Swales

Bio-retention areas prevent your drainage system from becoming overwhelmed by allowing water to collect and move through the landscape at a slower pace.

The Ruble Outdoor Concepts team creates shallow depressions filled with sandy soil, topped with a thick layer of mulch or gravel. We then plant water loving plants within and along the borders.

Some of the water will be absorbed by the plants and the ground below. Excess pond water will be collected with an overflow release to prevent flooding and slow erosion.

While bio-retention ponds are ultimately functional, our team of erosion control professionals will work hard to craft a pond that enhances the aesthetics of your site in addition to providing your site with the protection it needs.
